Sleep?

As I am writing this I am slowly rocking a 1 day old baby boy to sleep at 1:30 in the morning. Now I know it's been just one day but I tell ya sleep is the commodity that everybody said it would be. It is such a blessing and joy to have this guy and can't wait to spend every moment with him, but I need my beauty sleep. So we are going to have a little chat about this.

Life is changing!

Wow, can anybody believe the time that has past by? Almost a full nine months, nine months, I say it twice because a lot can happen in that time period. Yep we are coming down to D-day well in our case E-day! Ethan will be joining us shortly and I wanted to take this time to get back in the groove of posting because I can't wait to share everything he does and the adventures we go through in the next chapter of our lives.

We have decided through a series of events, prayers and discussions to stay in Spokane for the time being. We are going to start looking for a new place to raise Ethan and also a space to work on my motorcycle projects in! Yes sir projects is plural!

The current project is a 1971 Honda cb450. When I picked it up she wasn't running, no battery or fuel lines on it. Motor was free so that's what i am basing this whole venture on. I immediately started stripping her down and designing the new look. I am going for a clean lined cafe racer style. It has been a slow process but it is very nice to have something to keep my hands busy for the time being.

I think I am obsessed!

For the past 3 years I have loved taking photograph/pictures. Just recently I believe I can say I take photographs and not pictures. Pictures in my mind are what you take with your phone and never do anything with. Photographs are images that capture the moment, and you are excited to share that moment with anybody willing to pay attention. Anyways, sorry for the rambling. Back to the title, I think I am obsessed, some people are probably reading this and thinking. "Great what has he gotten himself into now"? Don't you worry, it is Black and White, literally. I love photographs that are in black and white or a version of it. I am constantly looking at all ideas for photos and imagining how they would turn out in b&w. Below are a few new photos and a few old ones, don't be surprised if you see more and more B&W.

Photos from an unlikely place

Everyday on my drive home from work I am constantly looking for places to take photographs. I see a reflection off a puddle, but then when I go back with my camera it has sadly dried up. Or I see classic car with the sun making the car almost glow, sure enough it starts snowing no more than 5 minutes later. There has been one constant that I have driven by each day, no matter the weather it has always been appealing. The Cemetery. I know I know, crazy. Just the opposite, look at the beauty of it and not for the literal object it is. It is a place for peace, respect, truth and love. It is a place we will all visit someday and realize that life is precious and we will all ask ourselves "I'm I living my life how I want to"? There are few places that I know of that will put such questions on your mind, and for that reason there is nothing crazy about being at a cemetery without being apart of a burial.

Hiatus, what Hiatus?

Ok, the hiatus is over and I am back on the wagon. Or is it off the wagon, either way it is time to start once again informing the population of my awesome doings and just flat out Living the Dream.

It has been about a month since Katie and I have been living together, finally, once again under the same roof. In that month we have moved out of the old apartment into a rental house on the other side of town, we have moved all of our belongings from Oregon up to Spokane and put a fence around a 3/4 acre lot. So we really have not done much on the fun side of things.

Our new place is great, huge yard for the dog and only ten minutes away from Newman lake. For now the lake is still frozen over but we are hoping to spend some hours on it in the summer months once the ice melts and the temperature gets above 45.

Well not much of an awesome first post back, but needless to say I am Back, and "I'm out Jack". LTD

Just Truckin around

Found an old truck near my parents house on one of our recent visits, just couldn't pass it up!
